Healthy Eating For Busy Families

A few years ago, I move our whole family to a gluten free diet. I try to make meals that are from scratch with very little processed foods. This can be a challenge when schedules are busy. I count on my slow cooker several times a week to provide healthy, gluten free meals that are kid friendly.  I keep the recipes extra healthy using both stevia, herbs, olive oil and extra lean ground turkey. Below are two of our favorite recipes.

Homemade Pasta Sauce

– 4  (12 oz ) cans of tomato sauce (I use a all natural store brand)

– 2 Tablespoons oregano

– 2 Table spoons minced garlic

– 1 small chopped onion

– 1/4 cup olive oil

–  1/4 cup stevia

– 2 pounds extra lean ground turkey (uncooked)

-Combine all ingredients in the slow cooker, cook on high for 4 hours then turn to low.  Serve over gluten free pasta.
